Insomniacs have been known to complain about being unable to close their eyes or "rest their mind" for more than a few minutes at a time. Both organic and non-organic insomnia constitute a sleep disorder.
Lately, I can't get my mind to switch off and can't sleep properly for 3-4 days consecutively. This is then followed by one big bastard of a sleep that takes up most of the day.
I worry. I'm going to attempt morning and evening workouts to see if it makes me more inclined to sleep.

So yeah, I was almost home from work on Friday, when going down some steps, my knee exploded in a shower of ungodly pain.
I rested it, and today called NHS24 who said it sounds like a sporting injury (from walking ¬_¬).
The bizarre thing is, I can bend it and everything but the moment i put weight on it... BOOM!
It makes both stairs and, bizarrely, sitting down (for a poo) intensely sore. I'm off to the 24hr doctors thingy tomorrow morning to get it checked. I am seriously fucking shitting bricks about the diagnosis.
It made me miss Beartrap, and totally fucked my weekend too. :(
On a lighter note, I've found a place to live in Edinburgh. It's halfway between the Gyle centre (work) and the City Centre (play). It is also adjoined to a park, very cheap (relatively speaking) and has 2 bedrooms!
Sadly, it doesn't have wheelchair access...

| A new social experiment... |

Today I devised a fun way to whittle away the time on a busy commuter train.
Basically, as a social experiment, I turn on my bluetooth (Psuedonym applied) and locate as many other users as possible. I then try to connect to their file sharing capabilities and see who has the balls (or stupidity) to say 'OK!'.
There's also the odd chance that some folks have auto accept on...
Now, no files will be stolen and nothing meddled with, I'm merely curious as to how easily people are willing to lower their defenses (says the person talking about their life on LJ).
Today out of 5 locatable devices I connected, straight away, to:
~Mah-Ray-Jay~ <3r of JT, RK & MS
In the 'petite-temps' I was connected I could hazard a guess at their name, the Initials of 3 people associated with them, The city in which they works/frequent and the station at which they leave the train. Scarily, I could access their photos but didn't look as this is only an experiment!
As part of the deal with myself, I leave all users that I access with a text file stating that they should secure their bluetooth connections as they never know who's prying.
A fun train journey you'll all agree!
Oh I also decided to go to Hong Kong in July as a treat. I need to get away quite badly. |
